ABEL DIES OF HEART AILMENT MENTOR, Jan 17,- Retired as a farmer since 1932 when he came here from Perry, Dan D. Abel, 66, succumbed to a heart ailment at 4 a.m. today at the home of his son, John, 693 S. Center St. Mr Abel was a member of a pioneer family of the Wesrern Reserve, and had lived all his life on the old Abel homestead, River Rd., Perry township, until he sold it in 1932. He was born in Perry June 1, 1875, the son of Henry and Emma McMurphy Abel. On March 18, 1903, he was married to Emily Alice Halsall, who came to Perry from the Isle of Man in 1900. Five children with Mrs. Abel survive. They are Mrs. Edith A. Klee, John and Robert H. Abel, all of Mentor, and Mrs. Emma Kermode and Mrs. Hilda Kohler, both of Painesville. There are 9 grandchildren and 2 nieces. Mr. Abel had been active for many years in the Perry Methodist Church where he was a member, and at one time he was affiliated with the Perry Lodge of the Odd Fellows. Friends may call beginning Sunday afternoon, at the Johnson Funeral Home in Painesvillle where rites will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Clarence E. Achberger, Pastor of the Mentor Meth. Church
