He was married to Miss Augusta Bluemke in 1890. The early part of his life was spent in Euclid, but for the last twenty years he lived in this vicinity. After a short illness of nearly two weeks, caused by blood poisoning and erysipelas, he passed away March 12, 1916, at his home here. A widow and three children survive. Aside from being missed in his home, he will be missed by his neighbors, who he was always ready to help in a time of need. The funeral was held at his late residence, March 14, and largely attended. The service was conducted by a minister from Nottingham, who was assisted by Rev. Axtell of Wickliffe. A choir sang, "Jesus Lover of my Soul", and "Nearer My God To Thee". A profusion of flowers were in evidence testifying of the love and esteem in which he was held. The remains were taken to Euclid for burial. CARDS OF THANKS We wish to express our sincere and heartfelt thanks to the many friends and neighbors, also memebers of K.O.T.M. of Wickliffe, for their kindness, sympathy and beautiful floral tributes, also Rev. Axtell for consoling words, in our bereavement of the loss of our husband and father. Mrs. Augusta Avis and family
