P. Briggs The funeral services of Mrs. Robert P. Briggs, of Cleveland, were held in St. James Episcopal Church Tuesday, at 1:30 o'clock, Rev. F. B. Avery, assisted by Rev. C. S. Bates, of St. Paul's Church Cleveland, officiating. Dr. Bates delivered a most impressive address, speaking words of comfort to the afflicted hearts, made desolate by the calling from earth of this young life, so suddenly and unexpectedly. Mrs. Briggs had been ill but two short weeks and was not considered in any critical condition until Saturday last, when the disease, typhoid malaria, assumed a most alarming form and before the patient watchers at her bedside were aware of the change, the loved spirit had passed into that sleep eternal, sweetly and calmly. Conscious to the last, without a murmur, she was gathered to her Maker. A Christian life was the life of our dear departed friend, loved by all who had the privilege of her acquaintance, always delighting in assisting those in trouble, happy and bright in working for the church she loved. She will be missed and mourned by many Painesville friends, who will ever remember her with pleasure and love. Mrs. Briggs leaves a little daughter, nearly three years of age, who will not realize that the devoted mother has been taken from the home made so happy by her presence and care. The sorrowing husband has the sympathy of a host of friends, ho mourn with him today, truly and sincerely, the loss of this dear one. The music at the church was very beautiful, the hymns, "Asleep in Jesus," "Thy Will be Done," and "Lead Kindly Light" sung by J. Powell Jones, S. L. Thompson, Mrs. Thompson, Mrs. C. H. House the old quartet, The remains were deposited in the vault at Evergreen Cemetery.
