Mr. Cady was one of the early pioneers of Ohio. He was born in Norfolk, Connecticut, in 1787; he came to Austinburg in 1811, where he resided until 1812, when he volunteered and went into the army as Drum-Major; on his return he came to Madison and purchased land in what is now the village of Madison; at that time there was not a house in the place; he felled the first tree that was cut in Centerville, and helped to erect a log house to hold meeting in. He was a resident of Madison fifty-four years. He leaves an aged wife, with whom he had lived fifty-one years, to mourn her irreparable loss; also four children, three sons and a daughter. His aching and disordered head, From pain and all disorders freed; His trembling limbs are now at rest, No cares disturb his peaceful breast.
