(Pittsburgh, Pa.) 1860-1898: July 07, 1860 Died at Hanging Rock, Ohio, on Thursday evening, June 7th, at 8-1/2 o’clock, Mr. James Rogers, after a protracted illness, in the 73d year of his age. Mr. Rogers was born in Cumberland County, Pa., December 7th, 1787, his father, Andrew Rogers, having emigrated from Ireland to This country about the close of the American Revolution. At the age of sixteen, James was apprenticed to the trade of a millwright, and was thus early being prepared for the active life ha has led in this Western country… The domestic life of our friend has been somewhat eventful. He was married three times, and has had a large family; two companions and eight children lay buried in the family graveyard, a widow and seven children still survive...
