The Ironton Register, March 3, 1903
William who was perhaps the oldest resident of this county died Friday evening 
about 6 o’clock at his home in Coryville.  He was 94 years of age and until 
overtaken by his fatal illness was unusually strong and active for one of his 
years and his death was due to cancer and the infirmities of advanced age.  He 
was a man of strong and true character and always had the thorough respect of 
the community.  His church affiliations were with the Christian denomination.  
He is survived by his wife and the following children, Mrs. Thomas Golden, 
Mrs. M. Sites, Mrs. Wm. Deering, and Mrs. Scott Hunter of Ironton.  Mrs. 
Douglass Miller of Portsmouth, Mrs. Louisa Clark of Cincinnati and Mrs. Jon 
Ballard of Beaumont, Texas, Messrs. E.J. Richardson, Morella, Mexico, W. R. 
Richardson, C. H. Richardson of Coryville and Dr. A. Richardson of Newport, 
Campbell Co. Kentucky.  There are 75 grandchildren and great grandchildren.
