The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net ******************************************************************************** REVOLUTIONARY WAR PENSION APPLICATION FOR THOMAS PERKINS -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- STATE OF OHIO LICKING COUNTY On this second Day of August in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight hundred and thirty three ( 1833) personally appeared before me Samuel Brancroft one of the Judges of the court of Common Pleas for said county, Thomas Perkins a resident of Bennington Township in the County of Licking and State of Ohio , aged Seventy One years, who being first duly sworn according to law doth on his oath make the following declaration in order to obtain the benefit of the provisin made by the act of congress passed June 7th 1832 That he enlisted in the army of the United States in the month of October in the year 1781 with Captain Buchannan and served in the number of the regiment recolled, contennial line under the following named officers to wit General Mullinburg, Col. Brown and Capt Bohannan and left the service about the first of May 1782 having served six months. Resided when he entered the service in the town of Winchester Virginia where he enlisted into a company of Artillary and marched from Winchester to ALbermarle Barrack and gaurded prisoners back to Winchester, where he continued in the service at the Barrachs until he was discharged. He also states that he was born in the state of Maryland in the year of 1762 swearing to the account he recieved from his parents and that he has now no record of his age he also states tha he never recored a written Discharge he further states that he is known in his present neighborhood to Samuel Rose, Boyant Thronhill and James Houk who can testify as to his characther for varocity and their belief of his services as a soldier of the Revolution He also states that he has no written testimony and knows of no person at present whose testimony he can procure who can testify to his service. He herby relinquishes every claim whatever to pension as an annuity except the present and he declares that his name is not on the pension Roll of any agency in any State.
