Harrod. Mrs. Allie S. Harrod, 86, widow of Andrew C. Harrod, a native of Hocking county and a resident of Newark for many years, died Friday afternoon at 4 o'clock in her home, 467 West Main street. She had been in failing health for some time. She was the daughter of John and Louisa (Wilson) Dicken and was born near Gore of a family of 10 children May 21, 1851. Following her marriage to William Perdew she lived near Maryville, Mo., and after the death of her husband she came to Newark. She was again married April 26, 1905, to Andrew C. Harrod, who died Dec. 23, 1934. surviving are one brother, Clarence E. Dicken of the Cherry Valley road and nieces and nephews. During her residence here Mrs. Harrod had been a member of the First M. E. church and was also a member of the W. C. T. U. The body will remain at the McCament funeral home until Sunday at 10 a. m., when it will be taken to the home. Funeral services will be held monday at 1 p. m. in the home with Rev. S. M. Ingmire and Rev. Thomas Wood officiating. Burial will be made in Union Grove cemetery near Gambier.
