Mr. Simpson at the time of his death 86 years of age and the oldest original member of the Methodist church at this place. In his honor the Epworth League was named "Jonathon Simpson Chapter League." Bro. Simpson was always a fruitful and consistent member of his church, but for a number of years has been unable to attend owing to his advanced age. He was often visited by the minister and members and was always found happy and all seemed to be well with him. He was a member of a family of ten children, all of whom are dead but one brother, Aaron Simpson. Five children are left to mourn his death, his wife having died several years ago. Funeral services will be held at the M.E. Church Friday at 10 o'clock, Rev. T.T. Buell of Brownsville, officiating, assisted by Rev. Wm. Hutchison. Interment will be at the Hanover cemetery.
