The Newark Advocate November 7, 1972
Services for Joseph F. Wharton, 72, 63 Beechwood Rd., will be 1 p.m. Thursday in
the chapel of Ross Henderson Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Hurdiss officiating.
 Burial will be in Newark Memorial Gardens.  Mr. Wharton died this morning (Nov.
7, 1972) in the hospital.  He was born Aug. 31, 1900 in Barnesville.  He came to
Newark in 1935.  He was an employee of the former A. H. Husey Glass Co.,
Westinghouse Appliance Sales and service Co. for 15 years, retiring in 1965, and
was a security guard at Ohio Sate University Newark Campus.  Mr. Wharton was a
member of ACME Lodge 554 F&AM and St. John's United Church of Christ.  

Surviving are his wife, Lucille M. Lawyer Wharton; a son, Garry of Westerville;
a daughter, Mrs. John Frankenberry of Newark and four grandchildren.  Calling
hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
