Services for Lucille M. Wharton, 72, of 63 Beechwood Dr., will be 2:30 p.m.
Wednesday in the chapel of Henderson, Van Atta and Johnston Funeral Home with
Rev. Richard Hurdiss officiating.  Burial will be in Newark Memorial Gardens. 
Mrs. Wharton died Monday afternoon (27 Feb. 1978) at Licking Memorial Hospital.
 She was born Jan. 5, 1906, in Cambridge to the late Harvey and Sarah (Gibson)
Lawyer.  She taught school in the Hebron School System and was a member of St.
John's United Church of Christ and Order of Eastern Star, Newark Chapter 305. 
Her husband, Joseph F. Wharton died in 1972.

Surviving are one son, Garry Wharton of Westerville; one daughter, Mrs. John E.
Frankenberry of Newark; two half-sisters, Mrs. Vincent Gill of Columbus and Mrs.
Richard Reppert of Cincinnati; and four grandchildren.  Calling hours are 7 to 9
p.m. tonight in the funeral home.
