Custom of open house will mark the golden wedding anniversary celebration of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Dicken, from 3 to 5 p. m. and from 7 to 9 p. m. Sunday, June 3, when friends and relatives may call at their home in 328 East Elm Street., Granville. The marriage of Miss Hattie F. Priest and John W. Dicken took place May 14, 1901 in Hebron, with the Rev. W. E. Prior, Methodist minister officiating in his home. Mr. and Mrs. Dicken are the parents of three children, Mrs. Walter H. Anderson, 7 1/2 North Fourth Street, John Dicken Jr., of the home and one son deceased. The family includes one grandson, James Anderson of Newark. Mr. Dicken was associated with the Buckeye Rolling Mill for a number of years as master mechanic. In 1920 the family moved from Newark to Granville, Since that time Mr. Dicken has engaged in the retail gasoline business, both in Granvilles and Newark. He retired in 1948. Both Mr. and Mrs. Dicken are members of the granville Methodist Church and Mr. Dicken is a member of the Masonic fraternity.
