The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ *********************************************************************** File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Pat Johnson busterb@info2000.net December 04, 1999 *********************************************************************** Logan County Ohio Deed Book A Page 195 FHL Film # 0545359 This indenture made this twentieth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty one between Benjamin Lane and Mary his wife of Logan County and State of Ohio of the one part and John Goalden of Warren County and State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said Benjamin Lane and Mary his wife for and in consideration of the sum of Two hundred Dollars to him in hand paid by the said John Goalden the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted, bargained, sold, remised, released, aliened and confirmed unto the said John Goalden one certain tract or parcel of land lying in the County of Logan on the waters of Mill Creek & Mad River bounded as follows beginning at two poplars and hickry Westwardly corner to the representatives of Lewelling Jones Survey No. 4635 and Southward to Lads Norwelle Survey 7198 running with their line North 38° W 130 poles to two beaches and an ash Westwardly corner to their Survey thence South 52° West 126 ˙ poles to two beaches and ironwood: thence South 38° East 130 poles to large beach, elm & water beach thence North 52° East 126˙ to the beginning containing One hundred acres, against the clame or clames of all and every person whatsoever To have and to To hold the said tract or parcel of land with all and singular the premises with there and every of there appurtenances to the said John Goalden his heirs and assigns forever and the said Benjamin Lane and Mary his wife doth for themselves and their heirs warrant and defend the title of the said tract or parcel of land to the said John Goalden his heirs and assigns forever against themselves & their heirs and against the claim of all and every person or persons whatsoever. Garwood Levi Garwood The State of Ohio Logan County§ Before me Levi Garwood one of the associate judges in and for said County personally came Benjamin Lane and Mary Lane his wife who severally acknowledged the signing and sealing of the above indenture to be their act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned and thesaid being examined by me privily and apart from her said husband declared that she signed and sealed the same being made acquainted with the contents without any fear, threats, coercion or compulsion from her husband.
