Thomas, ___ § This Indenture, made the 11th day of June in the year one thousand eight To § hundred and twenty (this date is wrong, it is 1828) between Able H. John Gouldin § Thomas and Rebecca his wife of the County of Logan and State of Ohio of the one part and John Goulden of the other part, of the County and State aforesaid, of the other part, Witnesseth; the said Abel and Rebecca Tomas for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and seventy five dollars, current money of the United States of America to them in hand paid the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledged and and forever acquit and discharge the said John Gouldin his heirs, executors and administrators, have granted, bargained, sold, aliened and confirmed, and by their presents doth grant, bargain, sell, alien, confirm unto the said John Gouldin his heirs and assigns forever, all that tract or part of land lying in the County of Logan and State of Ohio in the waters of Mad River and Mill Creek. Beginning a sugar tree ash and Ironwood Northerly corner to the representatives of Lewis Jones Survey No 4655. Thence with the line of said Survey South Fifty two degrees West one hundred and forty poles to a stone: Thence North Thirty eight degrees to a stone: Thence North one hundred and fourteen poles to a stone: Thence North Fifty two degrees East one hundred and forty poles to three birches cornering in a line of John Beards Survey No. 5675 (?): Thence with the line of Beards said Survey South Thirty eight East one hundred and fourteen poles to the beginning containing one hundred acres. Being part of said Survey No. 5088. Together with all improvements, water courses, profits and appurtenances whatsoever to the premises belonging or in any wise appertaining and the reversions, remainders and profits thereof and all the Estate, right, title, interest, property claim, and demand of them the said Able and Rebecca Thomas, of in and to the said To have and to hold the land thereby conveyed with all and singular the premises and every part and parcel thereof with every appurtenances unto the said John Gouldin his heirs and assigns forever to him the only proper use and behoof of him the said JohnGouldin, his heirs and assigns forever, and the said Abel and Rebecca Tomas for themselves, their heirs, executors and administrators do covenant and agree to and with the said John Gouldin, his heirs and assigns by these presents, that the premises before mentioned now are and forever hereafter shall remain free of and from all forever and other gifts, grants, bargains, sales, dower rights and title of Dower judgements, executions, titles, troubles, charges and incumbrances, whatsoever done or suffered to be done by them the said Able and Rebecca Tomas and the said Able and Rebecca Tomas and their heirs all and singular the premises hereby bargained and sold with the appurtenances unto the said John Gouldin, his heirs and assigns against them the said Able and Rebecca Tomas and their heirs and all and every other person whatsoever doth and will Warrant and Forever Defend by their presents. Attest § JSH Garwood § Nehemiah Green § The State of Ohio, Logan County § Personally came before the subscriber, a Justice of the Peace in and for said County, Able Tomas and Rebecca, his wife, signers to the within Deed of Conveyance and severally acknowledged the signing and sealing thereof to be their act and deed for the purposes therein expressed. The said Rebecca being separate and apart from her said husband and the contents to her made Known, she acknowledged that she executed the same freely without fear or coercion of her said husband.
