Hoge § Goulden and Catharine his wife of the first part and William H. Hoge of the other part all of the County of Logan and State of Ohio, Witnesseth that the said Thomas Goulden and Catharine his wife for and in consideration of the sum of five hundred dollars current money of the United States to them in hand paid the receipt whereof is have by acknowledged have granted, bargained, sold released and confirmed and do by these presents grant, bargain, sell, release and confirm unto the said William H. Hoge his heirs and assigns forever all that part or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Logan and State of Ohio on the waters of the Mad River & Mill Creek Beginning at a Maple Hickory and Red oak Southwest corner to John Marmon and running with Louis Marmons line N38° W 94 poles to two Beeches and Lynn in the line in the line of Robert Means Survey No. 5091. Thence with Said line East 112 poles to a stake or stone. Thence S 50° E 79 poles to a stake or stone and two beeches Easterly corner to John C. Garwood's lot and running with his line S 52° W 140 poles to a stake or stone in the line of James Hatcher and running with his line N 38° W 50 poles to a large White Oak and Lynn in a line of said Marmon. Thence N 52° E 18 poles to the Beginning containing seventy acres (70 acres) of land being a part of Survey No. 5088. Together with the improvements rents profits and appurtenances whatsoever belonging or in any wise appertaining with all the estate, right, title, interest claim and demand of the said Thomas Goulden and Catharine his wife of in and to the same. To have and to hold the lands hereby conveyed with the appurtenances unto the said William H. Hoge his heirs and assigns forever. To the only proper use and behoof of him the said William H. Hoge his heirs and assigns forever and the said Thomas Goulden and Catharine his wife for themselves their heirs executors and administrators do covenant promise and agree to and with the said William H. Hoge his heirs and assigns by these presents that the premises now and forever are free of and from all other gifts grants, bargains sales dowers rights and titled troubles and incumbrances whosoever done or suffered to be done by the said Thomas Goulden and Catharine his wife their heirs and all and singular the premises hereby bargained and sold with the appurtenances unto the said William H. Hoge his heirs and assigns against the said Thomas Goulden and Catharine their heirs and of every other person whatsoever doth and will warrant and defend by these presents. Baylor a Justice of the Peace in and for said County the above named Thomas Gouldin and Catharine his wife signed the above deed of conveyance and acknowledged the Signing and Sealing thereof to be their own free and voluntary act for the purposes therein expressed and She the said Catharine being examined separate and apart from her Said husband and the contents of said deed to her fully made known and explained to her She declared that She did voluntarily Sign Seal and acknowledge the Same and that She is still satisfied therewith.
