Sewell ÿ Lucilla Gouldin, his wife of the County of Franklin and State of Ohio of the one part and Thomas Sewell of the County of Logan and State aforesaid of the other part, witnesseth that the said John Gouldin and Lusilly his wife for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred and ninety dollars current money of the United States of America, to them in hand paid the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge and forever acquit and discharge the said Thomas Sewell, his heirs, executors and administrators have granted, bargained, sold, aliened, and confirmed and by these presents doth grant, bargain, sell, alien and confirm unto the said Thomas Sewell, his heirs and assigns forever, all that tract or parcel of land lying in and being in the County and State aforesaid on the waters of Mad river and Otter Creek, beginning at a sugar tree, ash and ironwood, northerly corner to the representatives of Lewellen Jones survey No. 4655; thence with the line of said Jones survey S 52° W 130 poles to a sugar tree and stone; thence N 38° W 16 poles to a stone; thence S 52° W 10 poles to a stone in a line of Isaac Hatchers; thence with the line of said Hatcher N 38° W 96 poles to a stone in said line; thence N 52° E 140 poles to 3 beeches in a line of John Bairds survey No. 5875; thence with the line of said Bairds S 38° E 114 poles to the beginning, containing ninety nine acres of land it being a part of a survey made in the name of John McDonald No. 5088, the whole, together with all improvements water courses, profits and appurtenances whatsoever to the said premises belonging or in any wise appertaining and the reversions remainders and profits thereof and all the estate, right, title, interest, property claim and demand of them the said John Gouldin and Lusilly, his wife of, in and to the same. To have and to hold the lands hereby conveyed with all and singular the premises and every part and parcel thereof, with every of the appurtenances unto the said Thomas Sewell, his heirs and assigns forever, to the only proper use and behoof of his the said Thomas Sewell, his heirs and assigns forever. And the said John Gouldin and Lusilly, his wife, for themselves, their heirs, executors and administrators do covenant, promise and agree to and with the said Thomas Sewell his heirs and assigns by these presents that the premises before mentioned now are and forever hereafter shall remain free of and from all former and other gifts, grants, bargains, sales, dowers, rights, titles of dower, judgements, executions, title troubles, charges, incumbrances whatsoever done or suffered to be done by them the said John Gouldin and Lusilly, his wife, and their heirs all and the singular the premises hereby bargained and sold with the appurtenances unto the said Thomas Sewell, his heirs and assigns against them the said John Gouldin and Lusilly, his wife, and their heirs all and every person or persons whomsoever, doth and will warrant and forever defend by these presents. Mookler Nancy Smiley State of Ohio, Franklin County, § § Personally appeared before me David Smiley, a Justice of the peace in and for the County aforesaid, John Gouldin & Lusilly Goulding, his wife, signers to the within deed of conveyance and severally acknowledged the within signing and sealing thereof to be their own act and deed for the express purposes therein contained. The said Lucilly Goulding having been by me examined separate and apart from he said husband and the contents to her made known she acknowledged that she executed the same freely without fear or coercion from her said husband.
