HAYS, SHEARMAN, HILYARD, SIMINGTON, MANN, KNAPP

These surnames from the Civil War pension application of Caroline
BERNINGER-WERTS, wife of Samuel Lewis WERTS, who entered the service
at Logan Co.,OH and died of dysentery and starvation at Andersonville
Prison, GA. Samuel Lewis WERTS was born in PA in 1824 and died in
1864. He married Caroline BERNINGER in Luzerne Co.,PA 1843.
