From the “Bellefontaine Republican”, Bellefontaine, Ohio
28 Aug 1874	At the residence near West Liberty on Jul 24th of cancer of the 
stomach, John Thomas Alcott, aged 30 years. Born 28 Mar 1836 on the farm where he 
died. Brother James died in the Civil War. He was married on 10 Nov 1868 to Eliza 
Jane Sechrist. She and sons George and John survived. Buried in West Liberty on 
Jul 25th. Services by Rev. L.I. Drake.
