From the “Bellefontaine Republican”, Bellefontaine, Ohio
23 Jun 1865   On June 13th at West Liberty, Robert Burgess aged 18 years 8 months 
5 days. He died of scrofula. A volunteer on August 5, 1862 in Co. C, 45th O.V.I, 
and in the Battles of Knoxville, Kennesaw and Resaca. Taken sick on December 1st. 
Discharged February 24th.
