From the “Bellefontaine Republican”, Bellefontaine, Ohio
06 Feb 1866   On January 13th 1856 (should be 1866), Henry J. Duchane. He was 
made a member of the Christian Church on November 30, 1857. He was born on 
April 2, 1843 and left home on September 10, 1861. Upon leaving home, he worked 
as a government teamster in Western Virginia. He was soon after promoted to Post 
Commissary. He later transferred to Nashville as Forge Master. He resigned due 
to ill health and fatigue and returned home on December 13, 1865.
