From the “Bellefontaine Republican”, Bellefontaine, Ohio
04 Jul 1862    At the residence of his parents in Rushcreek township on 
June 13th, Elwood Fawcett in the 20th year of age. In August 1862 he 
volunteered in Capt. Miller's Co. Sent to Jefferson Barracks, Mo. Last 
Spring, sent to Alton, 111. Furloughed and arrived home June 1st in good 
health. On June 10th was attacked with pneumonia and died on June 13th.
