From the “Bellefontaine Republican”, Bellefontaine, Ohio
21 Nov 1873     Sunday evening, Nov 9th near Middleburg, Daniel Garwood of 
paralysis. Born in Culpepper Co., Va. on 29 Feb 1804, he died aged 69. Came to 
Ohio with his father in 1805; married twice, 1st to Miss Elizabeth Humphreys by 
whom he had Daniel and Lemuel. Lemuel died in the serice of this country and 
Daniel lives in Indiana; 2nd wife was Elizabeth Cowgill who died but a few months 
ago. He was of English descent, his ancestors having come from Northumberland 
Co., England in 1698 to New Jersey, in 1768 to Virginia and in 1805 to Ohio.
