Ford fordnag@yahoo.com November 29, 2006, 12:45 am From the “Bellefontaine Republican”, Bellefontaine, Ohio 03 Dec 1869 On Nov 25th in Bellefontaine, John Knox aged 80 years 5 months 30 days. Born in Londonderry, Ireland on 27 May 1789. On 27 Apr 1827, he sailed to Quebec from Belfast on the Brig Rob Roy; shipwrecked on his 23rd day of passage on the south shore of the Gulf of St. Lawrence where four of his sons died. His second son William Knox was the only survivor. Removed to Xenia in Jun 1827 and came to Logan Co. in 1847. Early in life he was a member of the Seceder Church (Ireland). Member of the Associated Reform & Union Presbyterian Churches; survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter.
