From the “Bellefontaine Republican”, Bellefontaine, Ohio
05 Sep 1873	At the family residence near Huntsville on Aug 25th, Deborah 
Lease, wife of Samuel Lease, aged 70 years 5 months 21 days; born 04 Mar 1803 in 
Ross Co., Ohio; married 22 Feb 1824 and removed to Logan Co. with her husband on 
14 Dec 1825 and settled on the headwaters of Cherokee Creek. Mother of five sons 
and two daughters. She had paralysis for four years prior to her death. A second 
stroke over two years ago left her almost helpless and unable to speak with any 
distinctness. Member of the M.E. Church for 60 years.
