From the “Bellefontaine Republican”, Bellefontaine, Ohio
15 May 1857    At Bellefontaine on April 26th, Rev. John H. Rutter, M.D. 
aged about 58 years. Started practicing medicine in Virginia in 1826. 
Moved to Indiana, then in October last to Bellefontaine where he kept 
a drug and bookstore. Joined the Methodist Episcopal Church in 1821.
