From the “Bellefontaine Republican”, Bellefontaine, Ohio
31 Jan 1868   On January 20th, Henry Secrist, aged 86. Emigrated from Virginia 
in about 1817. Settled on the farm where he died about 2-1/2 miles North of West 
Liberty in 1818. Member of the Old Style Pres-byterian Church. Served in the War 
of 1812 for a short time when and friend volunteered and took his place.
