Simpson of Richland township, Logan County, 0., on March 15th, 1862 at Cherry Run, Morgan County, Va. Born in Ross County, June 1826 and at an early age removed with his father Mathew Simpson to Logan Co. Enlisted with Capt. Alvin Clark, 66th Regt. Ohio Volunteers as a member of the regimental band. - He was attacked with camp fever and diarrhea. Member of the Presbyterian Church at Belle Center. Mason.
