From the “Bellefontaine Republican”, Bellefontaine, Ohio
15 Aug 1873     At her residence near Lewistown on the eve of Aug 5th, Mrs. 
Catharine Smith, wife of William Smith, aged 67 years 2 months 15 days. Born in 
Kentucky on May 21, 1806; removed to Clark Co., Ohio when young with her parents; 
married early in life to Col. John Hogge; came to Logan Co. with him in May 1833 
and lived with him until his death in Oct 1853; widow until Jun 1856 when she 
married Judge William H. McKinnon who died Nov 1861; married Sep. 3, 1865 to 
William Smith, Esq.
