From the “Bellefontaine Republican”, Bellefontaine, Ohio
25 Dec 1863    Will Tomlinson, interred in Ripley (Ohio) Cemetery by friends from 
the effects of a pistol shot received on the night of November 28th. Newspaper 
editor. Once Clerk of the Iowa House of Representatives and Justice of the Peace 
of the City of DesMoines 1st Lieut. and Capt. in Civil War.  Resigned due to 
disease of the lungs contracted in the Virginia Mountains. An Englishman by 
birth and a resident of Brown County, 0.
