While ascending the steps of the court house at Bellefontaine last Friday morning, Archibald Valentine, aged 80 years, dropped over dead. John Elder, of west of Belle Center, was coming down the steps and assisted Attorney Cretcher to carry the old gentleman into the court house. The deceased was the father of W. H. Valentine, who owned and conducted the New Commercial Hotel in Belle Center until five weeks ago, when he traded it to A. L. Whyman and moved to Kentucky.
