Mr Burnett, 94, died Wednesday at a Westlake Nursing Home of emphysema. He liked selling and liked the idea of providing something most people needed and it pleased him when people came back, or as happened later, sent their children. Toward the end of his 48 years of selling he realized he was actually selling furniture to the grandchilren of some of his first customers. Mr Burnett, like so many of his generation, left school early and at the age of 12 was selling pop at several lakefront beaches and doing odd jobs in the winter. Mr Burnett, a native Clevelander, was a 32nd Degree Mason and a 73 year member of Bigelow lodge. He was a hobby gardener with special interest in fir trees and roses. He was known to his family, even the grandchildren, simply as "honey". Mr Burnett is survived by his daughter Jane Goetz of Fairview Park, one granddaughter and two great grandsons. Services are today at 1:30 pm at Corrigans funeral home 20820 Lorain Rd, Fairview Park. Additional Comments: No connection to transcriber.
