He was born July 15, 1904, in Calabria, Italy, ame to Maonesson, Pa. in 1908 and moved to Lorain in the 1920s, where he spent most of his life. Calabrese worked in the conditioning department of U.S. Steel as a burner for 27 years, retiring in 1968. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Restored Gospel; the United Steelworkers Union Local 1104; and enjoyed gardening. Survivors include his son, Louis Jr. of Clearwater, Fla.; daughter, Loretta Ricco of Elyra; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; brother, John of Elyra; sisters Mrs. George (Emma) Hale of Cleveland and Mrs. Charles (Vera) Naro of Lorain. He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Lucy (nee Sorino) in 1982; daughter, Louise in 1940; noe granddaughter; brothers Joseph, James and Pete; and sisters Mary Sorino and Rose Howard. Friends may call Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the John R Dovin Funeral HOme, 2701 Elyra Ave., Lorain. Friends may also call Tuesday from noon until the time of services at 1 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ Restored Gospel, 2655 Broadway, Lorain. Apostle Joseph Calabrese and Elder Mark Naro will officate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
