Conley JoeandBarb@peoplepc.com October 2, 2006, 10:22 pm Lorain Morning Journal RAY W. CONLEY, 69, of Lorain passed away today at the Hospice of St Joseph after a 9 month illness. Mr. Conley was born November 5, 1929 in Salyersville (Magoffin County) Kentucky and had been a Lorain resident for over 45 years. Mr. Conley was a veteran of the U S Army having served in Korea. He was retired from U S Steel where he was employed as a rigger. After retirement he worked locally for Joe Firment, Toys R Us and Builders Square. He enjoyed furniture refinishing and had performed this work for local retailers as well as family for many years. He was also an avid NASCAR fan and had driven at the Lorain County Speedway in the 1950's. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Mary Lou (nee Ardo); daughters Lois Dora of Riverside, California, Kimberly R. White and Mrs. Kenneth (Pamela) Krafczinski of Lorain and Mrs. William E. (Lynn) Sturgill Jr. of Wellington; sons Mark J. Conley and Leslie R. Conley of Lorain and Dennis A. Conley serving with the U S Navy in Norfolk, Virginia; a brother Roy H. Conley of Lorain and 13 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Jesse F. Conley in 1963 and Chrystal (nee Lemaster) Conley in 1978; brothers John H. Conley in 1966 and Challis P. Conley in 1978 and a grandson in 1972. Visitation will be held at Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home with services being held there by Rev. Oren D. Tackett. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery in Lorain.
