She was born Sept. 28, 1908, in Sylvania, Ohio, was raised in rural Camden Township and Kipton, and lived most of her life in Kipton until moving to LaGrange in 1978. Mrs. Meyers graduated as valedictorian of the class of 1925 at Camden High School at the age of 17 and graduated from Western Reserve University School of Nursing, Cleveland, in 1929. A registered nurse, she had worked at Allen Memorial Hospital, Oberlin, for many years, retiring from nursing in 1975. Mrs. Meyers was a member of the Church of the Open Door, Elyria; and had previously been a member of the First Baptist Church, LaGrange, where she was a Sunday school teacher for many years. She had completed the two-year Scofield correspondence cource given by the Moody Bible Institute, Chicago. Mrs. Meyers was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Survivors include her son, Lynn A. of Elyria; daughter, Mrs. Edward (Gail) Camp of Elyria; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Robert T. in 1984; and brothers Darwin L Sharp and Jay Sharp. Friends may call Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of the services at 11 a.m. in the Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. The Rev. Dr. Darrell L. Farney, associate pastor of the Church of the Open Door, will officiate. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township. Contributions may be made to the Moody Bible Institute, Chicago.
