Mezlak, 63, of Lorain, who died Thursday at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Avon after a long illiness, will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m. in Reidy Scanlan Funeral Home, Lorain, and 10 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Church, Lorain. Rev. Michael Drycz, pastor of St. Stanislaus Church, will officiate, and burial will be in Resthaven Memory Garden Cemetery, Avon. Friends may call Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the funeral home. Mezlak was a chef in many area restaurants, having retired from the Farmer Boy Restaurant in South Amherst. He served in the U.S. Army in World War 11, and was a member of St. Vitus Croatian Church, Lorain. Surviving are his wife, the former Eileen M. Coe, to whom he was married 42 years; sons Gary, Frank and Richars, of Lorain, and Larry of Elyria; daughters Judith Mezlak, Janice Kuzinar and Ruth Bennett, all of Lorain; brothers Steve and John, both of Lorain; sisters Kay Kaye of Lorain and Johanna White of Claremont, Calif; and eight grandchildren.
