Osgood, 84, of Lorain, died Saturday, April 10, 1993, at Lorain Community Hospital following a brief illness. He was born Oct. 11, 1908, in Lorain and had been a lifelong resident. Osgood was a hoist operator for the Toledo-Lorain-Fairport Dock from 1942 to 1973. He was a member of Christian Temple Church; the Bowling Hall of Fame; the Lorain Sports Hall of Fame; past president of the Lorain Bowling Association; and was an avid golfer. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth; daughter, Mrs. Richard (Dolores) Wyer of Avon Lake; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Friends may call Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Schwartz-Spence & Boyer Home for Funerals, 1124 Fifth St., Lorain, where the Lorain Sports Hall of Fame will conduct services Monday at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home, the Rev. Larry Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township. Contributions may be made to the Christian Temple; or the Animal Protective League.
