Homer E. Ellis

  Homer E. Ellis, 89, of Balkan Place, Toledo, passed on to our Lord, Tuesday, 
November 5, 1996, surrounded by family, and friends.  He was a member of 
Calvary United Methodist Church and the Oilworkers Retiree Group.  He was born 
November 12, 1906 in Newberg, WV and moved to Toledo at the age of 24.  Homer 
worked in Toledo at Union Oil, formerly Pure Oil, from 1931 until they closed 
in 1970.  From 1970 until his retirement in 1978, he worked at Hans Hansen 
Welding in Toledo.

  Surviving is his loving wife, the former Donna J. Mizer; daughter, Martha 
Jane (Leroy) Harris, Toledo; sons, Spenser (Suzanne) Ellis, Bedford, In; 
Timothy (Paula) Ellis, South Burlington, VT Grandchildren, Becky Berkel, Tom 
Harris, Laurie (Harold) Solomon, Sarah Goen, Tyler and Trevor Ellis; great-
grandchildren, Ashley and Casey Berkel, Joshua Curtis and Jessica Solomon,  He 
was preceded in death by his son, James B. Ellis; 5 sisters and 6 brothers.

  Friends may visit from 2-9 p.m. Thursday in the Ansberg-West Funeral Home, 
3000 Sylvania Avenue, where funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday.  
Interment in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.  Memorial contributions may be made to 
Calvary United Methodist Church, 3939 Jackman Road, Toledo, or to the American 
Heart Association.

  Homer's love of family and friends in evidenced by all the visits and calls 
while he has been sick in the hospital.  The family thanks you all for the 
wonderful support.
