Page 7, column 3. Death of JB King JB King, familiarly known as "Jerry" King, died at his home at Fassett and Miami Streets at 11 o'clock today. He leaves a wife and two daughters aged 13 and 15 respectively. His brother from Chicago has been at his bedside for several days. Mrs. Meaney, of the East Side, is a sister of the deceased. Mr. King has lived in Southeast Toledo for a number of years, and is well known by the residents there. He has kept a grocery store and saloon at the corner of Miami and Fassett Streets. Recently he went to Chicago to attend the funeral of a relative. He took a long ride in a hack at this time and caught cold. On returning home, he took to his bed and has been ill ever since. The funeral will be held from the Good Shepherd Church Monday morning. Additional Comments: Jerry was the son of John King and Elizabeth Evans, emigrants from Ireland. His siblings included Bryan, David, Ellen, John, Lawrence, and Patrick. He married a cousin, Alice Dwyer, the daughter of Thomas Dwyer and Ellen Meany, who were born in Ireland and emigrated to Canada. Jerry and Alice were married on 26 October 1880 in Toledo. Their daughters were Elizabeth (1883-1886), Ellen Alice (1884-1945), and Mabel Helen (1887-1954). After his death, Alice and their daughters moved to California.
