All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/oh/ohfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Bonnie Watson Miller tysonalexander2@hotmail.com June 9, 2008, 1:00 am Madison County Democrat-21 Nov 1913 DEATH OF JAMES WATSON, THE VETERAN FISH MERCHANT In the death of James Watson, the veteran fish merchant, aged about 82 years, which occurred at his home on West Second Street, this Friday morn- ing at 4 o’clock, of paralysis, London loses one of it’s best-known citizens as well as a pioneer resident. “Uncle Jim,” as he was best-known by his friends, was quite active for his age, and for the past ten years has conducted a fish market on South Main Street, near the Grand Central Hotel. He was born on a Madison county farm on Mar 9, 1832, and 42 years ago he moved his family to London, here he has since resided. For many years he conducted a meat shop in London. The deceased was stricken with paralysis on the street last Saturday week. He is survived by a wife and one son, Harry, of Columbus: also an adopted daughter, Anna, now the wife of Herbert Ford, of Dayton. One sis- ter also survives, Mrs. Jackson Orcutt of Summerford. The funeral services will take place at the late home on Sunday aft- ernoon at – o’clock, conducted by Rev, J. A. Liggit. Interment will be made at Oak Hill.
