Alexander W. Beard Dies, 
Former Owner of Dairy
Alexander Wilson Beard, aged 76, of New Buffalo, former owner of the 
Youngstown Sanitary Milk Co., died of a heart ailment at 7 a.m. today at his 
residence. Born Jan. 19, 1876, in New Buffalo, Mr. Beard was a son of George 
and Caroline Neff Beard. He moved to Youngstown in 1896 and returned to New 
Buffalo about five years ago. He was owner of the old Beard Creamery Co. which 
later became the Youngstown Sanitary Milk Co. He retired from the dairy 
business in 1912, selling the milk company to the present owner. Mr. Beard was 
a member of the Paradise Lutheran Church of new Buffalo. He leaves a brother, 
Burton of New Buffalo. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the 
Williams Funeral Home of Canfield where friends may call Sunday evening.

Burial – 17 Dec 1951in Row 2 Paradise Lutheran Cemetery, Beaver Tp, Mahoning 
Co. OH
