Burton A. Beard [Special to The Vindicator]
Canfield, May 1- Burton Alvah Beard, 85, of the Johnston-Fairview Rest Home, 
died at 6:08 a.m. today in the rest home. Mr. Beard was born Feb 15, 1872, in 
Beaver Township, a son of Sylvanus and Caroline Neff Beard, and lived in the 
Canfield area all his life. He was a farmer. He was a member of New Buffalo 
Evangelical Lutheran Church. His wife, the former Stella Rohrbaugh, whom he 
married in 1894, died in 1906. He leaves two sons, Ray of R.D. 1, Canfield, 
and Arthur of Canfield; a daughter, Mrs. Carol Neff of Massillon; seven grand-
children and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. 
Friday at Seederly-Beilhart Funeral Home, North Lima, where friends may call 
Thursday evening.
Burial – 3 May 1957, Row 2 Paradise Lutheran Cemetery, Beaver Tp, Mahoning Co.
