Michael Buck of Austintown died Tuesday afternoon after an illness of several 
weeks.  The deceased was a native of the Empire State, where he was born Sept. 
27, 1827.  He came with his parents to Austintown in 1835.  In 1854 he was 
married to Mary A. Gilbert who died some years ago.  Three sons were born to 
them, John A., of Jackson, Samuel J. of Austintown and Charles C. of 
Ellsworth.  Mr. Buck’s life was one of great activity and his accumulated 
wealth was the result of his own efforts.  He was a generous-public-spirited 
man and contributed liberally to the support of Gospel and various charitable 
purposes.  He was a member of the Reformed church, and since the organization 
of the Farmers’ National Bank of Canfield was one of it’s directors.  Funeral 
services will be held at the family residence on Friday at 2 pm.  Interment at 
Austintown.
