Neff ffen@zoominternet.net May 3, 2006, 12:54 am Mahoning Dispatch, Fri, 20 Feb 1931 CALLAHAN, John Lewis [Husband of Mary J. nee McCRONE] 2 June 1861 to 17 Feb 1931 69y 8m 15d JOHN LEWIS CALLAHAN DEAD; WAS LIFE CANFIELD CITIZEN John Lewis Callahan, 69, died at 5:30 Tuesday morning at his home on Lisbon street of apoplexy with which he was stricken two weeks ago. He was the son of Lewis and Catherine Zuck Callahan and was born in Canfield June 2, 1861, and his entire life was passed in this place. For several years he conducted a meat market and devoted some time to agriculture. He was long a member of the Methodist Episcopal church. On May 15th, 1889, he was married to Miss Mary J. McCrone of Poland, who survives with one daughter, Mrs. Florence C. Reents, of Youngstown, and one son, Urban Callahan, of Tarentum, Pa. He also leaves one brother. I. Callahan, and a sister, Mrs. C.W. Shaffer, both of Canfield. Funeral services held from the home Thursday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock were conducted by Rev. Glenn C. Cornell. Interment was made in Riverside cemetery, Poland. Burial – 19 Feb 1931 in Riverside Cemetery, Poland, Mahoning Co.
