Charles Chidester Taken
Charles P. Chidester, 86, died of a cerebral hemorrhage last Friday afternoon 
at the home of his son Curtis Chidester, in Hagerstown, Md., where he had 
resided the past six years.  Mr. Chidester was born in Canfield township, May 
17, 1862, a son of Royal and Carolyn Jarvis Chidester.  His grandfather, 
William Chidester, came to Canfield from Connecticut in 1802, and built his 
home a mile and a quarter west of the village, where the family lived until 
recent years.  Mr. Chidester was a carpenter by trade.  On June 20, 1909, he 
married Naomi V. Dooley, who preceded him in death.  He was a member of the 
Canfield Methodist church.  Besides his son, Curtis, he leaves a daughter, 
Mrs. Fred Toot of Canfield. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. George A. 
Gilson, were held Tuesday afternoon at the Williams Funeral Home.
