West Austintown – Feb. 14th -This community was grieved at the sudden death of 
one of its members, Mr. Orrin S. Flick, who passed away the age of 67 years. 
He was born in Cleveland Oct. 5, 1872 and came to Mahoning county in 1885, and 
had lived here ever since. In the year 1898 he was married to Bessie Bauman 
and to this marriage were born four sons, and one daughter, one son, Raymond, 
the daughter and the mother preceded Mr. Flick in death. On April 19, 1916, he 
was married to Rose Allen, who with the sons, Norman, of New Middletown, Tod 
of Bedford, and Curtis of Solon, survive. A granddaughter, Nettie Jean Flick, 
of Massillon; a sister, Mrs. Estella Roof of Salem, and a brother, D.A. Flick, 
of Youngstown, along with a host of friends, are also left to mourn his 
departure. Mr. Flick lived an unusually fine Christian life. He joined the 
Evangelical Church in the year 1896, 44 years ago, and had been active in an 
official capacity ever since. He taught the Sunday School Bible Class for 34 
years; was class leader for the prayer meetings, and a church trustee for a 
number of years. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, the body being 
brought from the Lane funeral home to the Evangelical church here and laid in 
state from 11 to 2:30 o’clock. Rev. R.E. Carmany had charge of the services. 
He was assisted by Rev. A.R. Brandberry of Calla and Rev. H A. Hensel of 
Canton, a former pastor here but now retired.
