Austintown – Private Graveside services were held today [3 Aug 2005] for 
Blaine W. Tanner formerly of New Road in Austintown, who passed away Saturday 
at Ron Joy Nursing Home. Blaine was born October 23, 1920 in Austintown, the 
son of Clyde and Josephine [Harroff] Tanner. He was a self-employed farmer and 
retired in 1985. A member of the Mahoning Valley Coon Hunters, Blaine was also 
involved in the Mahoning County Genealogy Society, and was a 1939 graduate of 
Fitch High School. He leaves a stepson Robert McElwain of Poland and two 
nephews: Dale Waller and Larry Langties both of Austintown. Besides his wife, 
the former Mary E. Bell whom he married in 1955 and died in 1993, Blain was 
preceded in death by two sisters: Thyra McComb and Violette Waller.

Burial – Row 2 Smith Corner’s Cemetery, Austintown Twp. Austintown, Mahoning 
Co. OH
