General Jr. Wiant, 64
ELLSWORTH – There will be funeral services at 11 a. m. Tuesday at the Canfield 
Christian Church for General Jr. Wiant, who died Thursday afternoon at his 
residence. He was born Dec. 21, 1938 in Youngstown, the son of General Abram 
and Elizabeth Lilley Wiant, and was a lifelong area resident. Mr. Wiant was a 
graduate of Canfield High School and a machine operator and truck driver for 
Valley Container. He was a member of the Canfield Christian Church and an avid 
baseball fan.  He loved to watch his grandchildren play softball. Mr. Wiant is 
survived by his wife, Patricia Ann (Driscoll), whom he married June 28, 1957; 
three daughters, Sue Ann (James) Russell of Boardman, Brenda Lee (Robert) 
Hernan of Ellsworth and Donna Marie Wiant of Minnesota; a son, Timothy Eugene 
(Debra) Wiant of Greensburg, Pa.; a sister, Margaret Wurster of Canfield; two 
brothers, Roy W. Wiant of Austintown and Russell E. Wiant of Goshen, and 11 
grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Lilley Stewart and 
Geraldine Wiant, and his parents. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at 
the Lane Funeral Home, Canfield Chapel and from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the 
church. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Mogadore.  Memorial 
contributions may be made to the Canfield Christian Church. Friends and family
