It is located on top of a hillside off of McCumber Hill Road (C-4) just east of Nicholason Hill Road (T-48). It is in the northwest corner of section 29 in Rutland Township, Meigs Co., Ohio. This property was originally owned by John Anderson. In the area of the cemetery there are several very old and tall (30 foot or more) cedar trees. The ground is covered with a thick blanket of myrtle. In the spring the cemetery is covered with daffodils. As you climb up the hill you see two cedar trees that are about 15-20 tall and 50 feet apart. That is about a quarter of the way up the hillside. At that time I thought that I was entering the cemetery. This must have been were at one time a home was located. There are rows and rows of yuccas all over the hillside with many smaller cedar trees. As you approach the cemetery you will see a tombstone for BROWN. This must have been one of the last burials in the cemetery. Keep going up and back into the woods and you will see all the other stones. Some of these were very old stones but they were easily read. Several had hand carved flowers, books, temple and etc. carved into the stone. I have complete pictures of the cemetery and will be happy to send copies to anyone interested. *************************************************************** SURNAME, FIRST NAME TRANSCRIPTIONS ANDERSON, John died Feb. 24, 1847 GAR Emblem.
