All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/oh/ohfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Sara Kelly Edward.F.Kelly@verizon.net February 24, 2004, 12:44 pm Range 11, town 3, section 18 Written: June 20 1846 Know all men by these presents that Nicholas Richardson and Hannah Richardson wife of said Nicholas Richardson of the county of Meigs Ohio in consideration of the sum of four hundred and eighty four dollars in hand paid by a James Amsden of the same place have bargained and sold and do hereby grant bargain sell and convey unto the said James Amsden his heirs and assigns forever the following premises situate in the County of Meigs in the State of Ohio and in the Township of Lebanon and bounded and described as follows Beginning at a stake on the Bank of the Ohio river near the north east Methodist meeting house and twelve links south of a large tree, thence west one hundred and eighty one rods and nine tenths to a stake on the section line, thence south eighteen rods and six tenths to a stake thence East one hundred and ninety six rods and five tenths to the bank of the said river thence up the river with the meanders thereof to the place of beginning. Being a part of the Fractional section no. eighteen town three range eleven in the Ohio Companies purchase containing twenty two acres. To have and to hold said premises with the appurtenances unto the said James Amsden his heirs and assigns forever. And the said Nicholas Richardson for himself and heirs doth hereby covenant with said James Amsden his heirs and assigns that he is lawfully seized of the premises aforesaid that the premises are free and clear from all incumbrances whatever, and that he will forever warrant and defend the same with the appurtenances unto the said James Amsden his heirs and assigns against the lawful claim of all persons whomsoever. In testimony whereof the said Nicholas Richardson and Hannah Richardson have hereunto set their hands and seals this 20th day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty six. signed Nicholas Richardson Hannah Richardson Executed in the presence of Henry S. Lawrence Thomas W. Smith The State of Ohio Meigs County Before me Henry S. Lawrence a Justice of the peace in and for said county personally appeared the above named Nicholas Richardson and Hannah his wife and acknowledged the signing and sealing of the within and above conveyance to be their voluntary act and deed, and the said Hannah being at the same time examined by me separate and apart from her husband and the contents of said instrument made known to her by me she then declared that she did voluntarily sign seal and acknowledge the same and that she is still satisfied therewith this 20th day of June AD 1846 Henry S.
