All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/oh/ohfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Sara Kelly Edward.F.Kelly@verizon.net February 24, 2004, 12:51 pm Range 11, township 3, section 8 Written: August 28 1841 This indenture made the twenty eight day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty one Between Nicholas Richardson and Hannah his wife of Lebanon Township in Meigs County and State of Ohio of the one part and James Amsden of the Township of Lebanon in the County and State aforesaid of the second part Witnessesth that the said Nicholas Richardson and Hannah his wife for the consideration of the sum of five hundred dollars to them in hand paid by the said party of the second part the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained sold and quit claimed and by these presents do grant bargain sell and quit claim unto the said James Amsden his heirs executors administrators and assigns all their and each of their rights title interest claim and demand or estate both as (cannot read microfilm) in Equity and as well possession as expectancy of and to all the following bounded and described tract of land Beginning at the stake on the Bank of the Ohio River to the banks south of a large Sugar tree Hence by the line between said Richardson and Amsden West to John Andersons line thence by said line North to such place that a due...West line from a Locust on the bank of the Ohio River may intersect, Thence said line East to the Locust on the bank of said ----- Hence down the river to the place of beginning It being part of Section eight township no three range number eleven situate in the township and County of Meigs together with all and singular the (cannot read microfilm) and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any were appertaining. In testimony whereof the said party of the first part have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written Signed sealed and delivered in presence of John Anderson Tunis Middlewart signed Nicholas Richardson Hannah Richardson State of Ohio Meigs county Before me the subscribed a Justice of the Peace in and for said county personally came the within named Nicholas Richardson and Hannah his wife and acknowledged the within written indenture to be their voluntary act and deed and desired that the same might be recorded as such and the said Hannah being of full age and by me first examined separate and apart from her said husband and the contents of the within written deed of conveyance by me being fully made known unto her. She did in such separate examination declare that she became a party thereunto voluntarily and of her own good free will without any compulsion or coercion on the part of her said husband.
